WAAY TV-31 To Carry London New Year's Day Parade -LIVE- January 1st

The Florence High School "BIG BLUE" Falcon Marching Band will be performing in the New Year's Day Parade and Festival in London England on January 1, 2010.  WAAY TV 31 is sending Barry Hiett, one of the station reporters, with the group to chronicle the week's activities and send reports back to the Shoals each day.  The parade kicks off at noon London time (6 a.m. CST) and will be broadcast live on Channel 31 for all to see.  Over 200 million people around the world will be watching.  We invite you to join in as well.  The FHS band will also be part of a 6 band finale that will perform a patriotic tribute to America and England at the base of Big Ben in Parliament Square.  

In addition ot the parade, the band will perfom a concert in St. John's Cathedral at Smith's Square and an outdoor presentation in Trafalgar Square.  They will also be touring many of the historic sites in and around London including Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, Bath, Big Ben, and the Houses of Parliament, just to name a few.
